Allergies can make life miserable, as people in select areas of the country know. In Southern states, many allergy sufferers are affected year-round by both natural and environmental (indoor) allergies. In other states, however, residents have found a respite in places where allergens in general seem to be more rare. Some of these places include:
Grand Rapids, Michigan. It may be because of the hard winters, but allergy sufferers don’t seem as prevalent or as miserable.
Milwaukee-Waukesha, Wisconsin. Perhaps it’s the proximity to Lake Michigan, but folks who have allergies seem to do better here.
Seattle, Washington. It seems odd that a place as rainy as Seattle would have a lower allergen factor, but it does.
San Francisco, California. Maybe it’s because of the closeness to the ocean, but Bay Area residents are some of the most allergy-free folks in the U.S.
Minneapolis, Minnesota. Again, it may be the long winters. It’s kind of strange that the “Land of 10,000 Lakes” wouldn’t offer allergy problems, but that’s the case.
So go north, young man (or woman) – if you have allergies, the Northern states seem to be your best bet! And to help provide allergy relief, try a product like Flonase or Allegra, available through an online pharmacy.
